Two Rivers Studio Summer Studio Re-Opening 2021

To Our Studio Community,

I am very happy to let everyone know that under the new Massachusetts guidelines, the studio will be able to re-open again for limited access to open studio activities. The last year has required patience and perserverance from all of us in so many different ways. I truly appreciate everyone's support and desire to return to studio activities. We are not back to normal, as formal classes cannot resume safely, but limited studio access will resume with the same practice and procedures as we used last summer and fall. Formal classes and one on one instruction will have to wait until later this summer or perhaps fall. We will begin to take reservations for studio times that begin on Monday February 22, 2021.

As we did last summer and fall, Monday thru Saturday, 9am to noon and 2pm to 5pm, there will be morning (9am to noon), and afternoon (2pm to 5pm) studio sessions. There will also be a Wednesday evening session 6pm to 9pm. Each session is limited to 4 individuals, who can sign up via email or by calling the studio number (978-618-1475) Covid 19 protocols, including mask wearing and signing into a daily log book, will again be mandatory. I will always be available for guidance and direction, but individual hands-on instruction will not be possible. The costs will again be $20 per session and a variety of clay will be available, and your firing costs will continue to be part of clay purchased. Finally, we will continue to offer firing services to all our studio customers who still play in clay at home.

In other studio news, our new soda kiln and raku firing area is nearly complete. All that remains on the kiln is welding the door and chimney onto the kiln frame. The gas burners are ready to be attached and the gas lines are in! As the spring mud season approaches, new gravel will be laid down around the kiln, and hopefully we will have some new firing techniques available to everyone this spring and summer!

I look forward to seeing many of you back in the studio in the coming weeks and I appreciate your patience and support. Please stay safe and healthy!
